Part Number: AAQ-613
This CVA Plains Rifle is stocked in beech stained to a light brown and trimmed in brass furniture. The buttstock has been inlaid with a brass medalion with an elk. The brass buttplate and triggerguard have acquired a slightly tarnished patina from long storage. The factory rear sight is screw adjustable for elevation. The front sight is a brass blade with a steel base.
The Maslin percussion lock is color case hardened and features a fly detent to allow the use of the double set triggers. The lock features a tiny internal screw, cleverly arranged to adjust sear engagement in the full cock notch. The triggers are adjustable for both trigger release and backlash. The lock can be cocked, or the trigger set, in any sequence. The triggers can fire the lock, whether set or unset.
A single steel key retains the barrel, mounted with a hooked breech, for easy cleaning. It is easy to remove the barrel, and clean it with hot soapy water, dry, oil, and re-assemble. Overall weight of the rifle is 6.9 pounds and it has a trigger reach of 13-3/4" making it well suited for today's average size shooter.
