"The King's Musket" or "The King's Arm" was the official period parlance for the firelock carried by British redcoats for over a century and now popularly nicknamed "Brown Bess." The "India Pattern" was originally purchased for use by the East India Company, and adopted by the British army in 1797 as the standard infantry musket. A less complex arm than the earlier models, it was easier to produce and required less time to make, during a period when the British had a larger military buildup than any previous period due to the war with France.
More in-depth information on the Third Model, and other Brown Bess models, is available in Anthony D. Darling's book, Red Coat and Brown Bess.
Technically, this model is appropriate for the American War of 1812, and it post-dates the Revolutionary War.
A bayonet is included with this musket.
