This Remington Model 1900 is stocked in black walnut. The pistol grip buttstock has been refinished, removing all the checkering. The forearm has light, worn, checkering remaining. The stock appears sound with some handling marks but no chips or cracks. The forearm does have a crack along the centerline. Fitted with Damascus barrels this shotgun would be suitable for black powder shot shells only.
The 12 gauge Damascus barrels are 29" in length. The right hand barrel measures 0.725" at the muzzle, the left 0.730". The bores are mostly bright with some pitting. Both barrels have some dents that should need to be removed before firing. Remember these barrels are designed for black powder ammunition only.
Damascus steel barrels are quite malleable. Thus, they can be dented easily. Happily, such small dents are easily removed using a proper precision mandrel and a brass hammer.
