This .45 caliber Thompson Center Hawken percussion rifle is in near new condition and ready to shoot. An early specimen of T/C's best work, this factory finished rifle is stocked in American black walnut, with brass furniture, blued barrel, and color case hardened percussion lock. The stock displays few marks from handling, and the blue finish has a few marks at the muzzle from loading and cleaning.
The .45 caliber barrel is 15/16" straight octagon. The bore is rifled with a 1 in 48" twist to shoot either a patched round ball, or a T/C Maxi ball. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. We recommend our .440" round ball, .015" patch, and Mink Oil tallow patch lubricant, over a charge of 60 grains of GOEX FFFg black powder. The blue finish is excellent with only a few marks from loading and cleaning at the muzzle. The front sight is Thompson Center's blued steel bead sight. The rear sight is click adjustable for elevation, and screw adjustable for windage.
