Part Number: AAP-003
Assembled by contemporary gunmaker John Allen, this fine quality left hand target rifle has mid nineteenth century styling with a percussion snail breech, modestly curved buttplate, and scroll grip triggerguard. The rifle is stocked in very curly black walnut, and trimmed in nickel silver furniture. The R.E. Davis percussion lock, and double set triggers, and moderate caliber make a ideal off hand target rifle.

Best quality parts include a 36" by 15/16" straight octagon .40 caliber barrel. The bore .40 caliber bore is cut rifled with seven lands and grooves with a slow twist for a tightly patched round ball. We recommend our .395" pure lead round ball, patched with .017" Ox-Yoke ticking, lubricated with Mink Oil grease, or other animal fat lubricant for best accuracy. The top flat of the barrel is signed J.P. Allen.
