This interesting antique breech loading cape gun is a rifle shotgun combination chambered for .43 Mauser and 16 gauge. The walnut stock has a checkered pistol grip and is fitted with a checkered steel buttplate. The engraved back action rebounding hammer locks are nicely engraved. The Lefaucheux style action has a horn lever to break the action. The triggerguard is also shaped from horn. The front trigger is a single set, for use with the rifle barrel.
This combination rifle / shotgun qualifies as antique and may be shipped directly to you without FFL paperwork.
The barrels are 27-1/2" long, and swing nicely. This combination gun has the unusual feature of having one steel rifle barrel and one Damascus shotgun barrel. The right hand rifle barrel is chambered for the .43 Mauser cartridge, the bore is mostly bright with some scattered dark spots. The left hand Damascus shotgun barrel is chambered for 16 gauge 2-3/4" cartridge, again the bore is mostly bright with some scattered dark spots. The rifle barrel is finished to a dark blue, and the shotgun barrel has Damascus pattern visible over the full length. Both barrels are for use with black powder cartridges.
