Part Number: AAQ-602
Offered as a used rifle, this beautiful Model 1885 High Wall rifle looks to in as-new condition. The rifle was manufactured by C. Sharps Arms Company, Big Timber, Montana and is marked on the top flat of the barrel. Standard features include the nicely color case hardened frame and blued tapered octagon barrel chambered in .40-65 WCF. The buttstock is shaped with a pistol grip and fitted with a checkered steel color case hardened buttplate. The action is fitted with the optional single set trigger, making it ideal for target shooting. The semi-fancy walnut buttstock is shaped with the cheekpiece with accent line. The rifle has factory installed C. Sharps Arms mid-range tang sight and globe sight with inserts.

The rifle is stocked in American black walnut and is medium brown with golden undertones of tiger stripe figure, not often found in American walnut. This buttstock is shaped with the optional cheek piece with accent line. The color and figure of the walnut gives the rifle a rich appearance. The barrel is in the standard weight which allows the rifle to be fired offhand without being excessively muzzle heavy. In new condition, the wood shows no obvious handling marks in the factory finish.

Chambered for the .40-65 WCF cartridge the bore is bright and perfect. The shotgun style buttstock, with checkered steel buttplate, help reduce the felt recoil from the big rifle. A globe front sight, in a steel dovetail base. Note that C. Sharps rifles have a 3/8" dovetail for the front sight. Seven additional inserts are included. No barrel mounted rear sight has been installed, so the mid-range tang sight will have an unobstructed sight picture at all elevation settings. The C. Sharps Arms mid-range tang sight is both windage and elevation adjustable.

The close up photo of the action clearly shows the vivid color case colors found on this nice specimen of C. Sharps Arms workmanship. The single set trigger has a small adjustment screw behind the trigger to adjust the trigger release in the set position. To set the trigger push the trigger forward until it latches. Once set it has a very light release.
