Part Number: AAP-138
This nice fusil has its origins in the fur trade of the early 1700's. Type D fusils replaced the more decorative Type C fusils that were found in Canada as early as 1680. Stocked in black walnut, correctly oil finished, this fullstock has a even brown walnut color, with a patina brown finish on the iron furniture. New, unfired, this French fusil was assembled by contemporary builder Bob Cowie.

The 24 gauge octagon-to-round barrel is 41" in length. The octagon section is 8-1/2" in length transitioning to 16 flats with a wedding band. The .578" bore is bright and clean, well maintained. A small silver fusil front sight is soldered on the barrel 2" from the muzzle. No rear sight is fitted to the barrel. This smoothbore 24 gauge gun will qualify for the new N.M.L.R.A. Trade Gun Match, where you fire patched round balls at paper targets, and shot at clay birds, using the same flint smoothbore gun.
